About Tecla's Daycare
Founded on the hope for a single mother to be able raise her child while also pursuing her dream of working with kids, Tecla's Daycare is family business that is 25 years strong, that keeps family at the heart of all we do. Young children who go to Tecla's Daycare are not just a number, they are part of the Daycare Family. They get the education and support they need as growing kids. From dance time, to "homework" time, children who come to Tecla's Daycare thrive, and have fun while doing it. We encourage our children to explore their imaginations, that learning is SO much fun, and we teach that treating others with kindness and respect is the most important part of life.

"Take watched our twin boys from age 8 weeks to 9 months. If it weren't for a job loss we would have loved to have kept the kids there. She was great with them. Take handled twin infants along with the older kids with ease. She was excited to see them every day and I know they were well taken care of. Primary Daycare Provider and Founder
A single mother hoping to watch her child grow, who has always had a passion for teaching and caring for children, Tecla, who you can also call just "Take", decided to take on the venture of starting her home daycare. 25 years later, and Tecla has educated and raised over 180 children in the greater Sacramento area. Preparing them for advanced placement in kindergarten by teaching young children how to write, read, and even the beginnings of math are the things that bring Tecla joy. Dancing with the kids, hearing their laughter, and playing games throughout the day, helping these little love bugs brow into beautiful people is what Take was put on this planet to do.
Annelies

Secondary Provider and Educator
Growing up living in a home daycare, Annelies has had probably the most experience with children that any 25 year old could possibly have. Being raised in this environment truly fostered her love for children, and as she became of age, she officially became the second in command. Just as they always have, Tecla and Annelies continue to work as a team, including at the daycare. Through Annelies' experience as a gymnastics coach for kids aged 2 to 12, working in the Disney Parks on both coasts, and her college education (B.A from UC Irvine and 4 A.A's from American River College), Annelies has used her home experience with children to excel in these roles, while also bringing back what she learned to further teach and care for the children of Tecla's Daycare.

CHILDREN
We welcome children of all ages. We are not able to provide any sort of transportation for any child. All transportation must be provided or organized by the family.
activities
Coloring, dance time, and preparation for kindergarten are just a few of the activities your child will enjoy at our daycare. Most children who transition from our daycare to kindergarten enter at above their class with reading, writing, and math skills.
meals
No need to pack a lunch! We've got you covered. All meals and snacks are provided at Tecla's Daycare.
